| Planning | The default for new projects. Work is being set up. |
| Active | Work is under way. |
| On Hold | Paused. On Hold projects lose 15 points from their health score. |
| Completed | Finished. Set it from Edit. |
| Archived | Retired and kept for the record. Set it with Archive Project or from Edit. |
Automatic activation
A project in Planning moves to Active automatically as soon as any of its boards has at least one ticket. That happens when the first ticket is created on, or moved to, one of the project's boards. Projects in any other status are never changed automatically.
Other status changes
Every other change is manual: open the project, choose Edit, and pick the new status. Project status changes notify the project team.
